Voodoo Dahl is a black magician based in Los Angeles. While she believes that everyone is born with natural abilities, witchcraft is in her blood. Growing up in a family of women with abilities who discarded their gifts due to religious beliefs, she originally found her abilities and urges to practice the craft sinful and taboo.
She began her ritual practices and occult studies as a teen, studying demonology and Mithraism. It was not until well into her late twenties and thirties that she discovered the names for the gifts that had felt more like curses throughout her life. Voodoo Dahl is clairgognizant, clairsentient, clairaudiant and empathic, just like her all of the women in her family. Being able to call her gifts by name gave her strength and validation.
She set out to cleanse herself of her religious dogma and heed her spirits calling. Voodoo was Voodoo Dahl’s first ancestral mother that ushered her back home into the occult. Though she branched off into other various areas of the occult she lovingly adapted the name “Voodoo Dahl" to pay homage to the occult mother that was waiting for her with open arms.
Voodoo Dahl went on to study freemasonry and eventually joined The Golden Dawn. Feeling stifled by the constraints of traditional ceremonial magic she decided to become solitary and work on her own spells and rituals that were begging to come forth into this realm. Voodoo Dahl focuses on blood and sigil magic, often working with the tarot and Goetia and has lectured at the Midsummer Scream Convention on the subjects as a member of “The Real Witches of Southern California” panel.
